The Importance of Revamping and What Not To Do
I don’t think I can state it better than by saying: revamping is giving a new life to your brand. Look at the Pepsi and Coca-Cola logo comparison chart, they have been changing logos every decade or so ever since they started out as rivals (later on allies). It is different ways to interpret your brand and adapt to the ever evolving cultures of our world. You stay behind, you lose. It’s that simple.
You learn and adapt with a style/look in particular for months, even years and you learn to see how your users interact around your brand; different reactions, what people have to say, how people recognize it and how people interpret your brand to other people. I think one of the most important features of a brand is when people feel comfortable with it enough so that they can share there thoughts and positivity about the brand.
Now for revamping, term most commonly used for the Internet which means to revise or reconstruct, it needs to keep a very important aspect which is to keep the basic elements the same (logo, main purpose of website, same content) cause if you don’t, you might lose some very loyal users that just aren’t down with the new design.
The importance of revamping is to alert your users that you always leave room for improvement, for user feedback, which I think is more important than ever in our new information era and to where the Internet is heading.
On this note, we have now fully launched our new website in both French and English. Comments and suggestions are strongly appreciated!
