The new social network site, Vyoom, launched today. The main features of the site are reward points and real-time status updates. To be honest with you, I signed up because I work in Social Media and a huge percentage of my work tasks consists of being active in the social networks.

The site does not offer me anything more than what Facebook already offers except for a few seconds delay to real-time updates and reward points for various actions you perform on the site. Domain is not too trendy either. Some comments on TechCrunch even announced that it’s just the pronounciation of « view » with a « m » added at the end which makes « vyoom ».

Though their is a bit of incentive signing up right now and maybe spamming the hell out of your twitter for a few hours to get some people to join the site to maybe eventually get enough for a 8GB USB key. If your lucky, you might even be able to get a 500 CD pack.

Let’s see how Vyoom turns out, and if ever it’s able to compete with the Facebook beast.
