Hi to all Ressac Media addicts. This is a general shout-out to all you Wordpress gurus or wannabes out there that eat and drink the Wordpress blend. Wordpress Camp is coming to Montreal this weekend (Saturday July 11th and Sunday July 12th) and Ressac Media will be there for all of it! By being there were talking Web 2.0 style, we’ll blog about it LIVE.

With a focus on tying up the loose-ends of micro-blogging and Wordpress, Erin Blaskie will explain the advantages of Wordpress in our real-time world and how it can have a huge impact on our online image.

2) WP-MU 101: How to Install and Avoid Common Mistakes

Wordpress MU is the new alternative for blog network start ups. Ever thought about starting your own network of blogs, this is the perfect solution, and evolve it around Wordpress, the most popular blogging CMS.

3) Q&A Session with Matt Mullenweg, founder of WordPress

My personal favorite. We will be having a Q&A session with the founder of Wordpress Matt Mullenweg. I still need to figure out a few questions I will be asking but should be an interesting hour all together.

4) Cooking with BuddyPress

You guys ever heard of BuddyPress? It’s the new social network solution for your own blog. Users will be able to register, upload their pictures, edit their profile and add friends straight from your blog. What does this mean? It means you will be able to create your own private communities without spending thousands of dollars on a custom solution.

5) Caching and Optimization for WordPress: Keeping your site fast and stable.

We have waited a long time to be able to find a solution for the amount of resources Wordpress uses up on a high traffic site. We are still trying to figure out what to take off and what to optimize to get the best performance. I will be attending this session in hopes of figuring out more on this process.

6) The Future of WordPress

Discussions will be taking place on the future of Wordpress. Jane Wells will be explaining new features of Wordpress 2.9 as well as features to come in future versions of the popular CMS. Stay tuned for exclusive Beta news!

7) The Integrator Project: BuddyPress in action and Hacking WordPress: Intro to custom plugins and advanced templating

More features of the popular add-on BuddyPress will be explained and also demonstrated. Should be interesting. Introduction on how to create custom plugins as well as demos on how to build custom templates. Hopefully these will be adapated for at the very least intermediate people, can’t stand newbie comments.
